Political Musical Chairs: Seating The Florida and Michigan Delegates


“This is the unity that we will show America when we inaugurate a Democratic president in January 2009 and the beginning of restoring our great country." – Howard Dean, DNC Chairman

So began the bloviating that officially opened the Democratic Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting. The speeches and rhetoric went on for more than 30 minutes. Unity was the “message,” but all that was provided were “just words.”

The simple solution is to honor the rules the DNC, along with the candidates, agreed to in August of 2007. The States understood exactly what would happen should they violated the rules, which is precisely where they find themselves. But following rules and committing to principal just isn’t in the DNC creed. Democrats in general have a hard time adjusting to those annoying little things called rules, preferring instead to ignore them thinking - “what is the worse that could happen?”

I take great offense to Howard Dean statements about “restoring our great country.” America is a still a great nation, and shame on the Democrats for spending the last 8 years belittling our virtues and creating a false American identity. The Democratic Party has squandered the trust of the American people for the sake of “power.” All one has to so is look at how the Democrats have acted during this year primaries, and you will see exactly what Americans can look forward to if they control all three seats of the federal government.

Racism, sexism, and religious intolerance…….the Democratic Party just can’t help themselves. This week we have another Chicago religious leader, Father Michael Pfleger, speaking nonsense from the “bully pulpit.”

Speaking at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Pfleger went on an anti-white rant directed at Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton. Father Pfleger made the following statement about Hillary Clinton (which can be seen at around 3:35 in the attached video):

“She has always thought that, ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white……And then, out of nowhere came ‘Hey, I’m Barack Obama.’ And she said , ‘ Oh damn, where did you come from? I’m white. I’m entitled. There’s a black man stealing my show!” Pfleger went on to mock Clinton, by pretending to sob, and wiping his face with a handkerchief, stating – ‘She wasn’t the only one crying. There was a whole lot of white people crying.’”






Father Pfleger behavior was unacceptable and insulting. I particularly love Father Pfleger’s, who is white, imitation of Reverend Wright, which was very condescending and offensive. Imagine the outrage if a conservative religious leader put on the virtual "black face act," and attempted this sort of behavior? What would be the Democratic and media response?

To no ones surprise, USA Today reported that Rev. Michael Pfleger was in fact supporting……..wait for it……Senator Obama for President.

Senator Obama released a statement distancing himself from Father Pfleger rant, which seems to be a common theme lately. It has become so common, the Obama staff has a form letter where all they have to do is ‘insert the name’ of the latest associate they need to detachment themselves from.


I just can’t wait to see what happens next. So in honor of Father Pfleger’s new found “hip-ness,” I dedicate this next video to the Father….word to your mother.

Senator Obama Invited To Iraq

In two brilliant video's from the Vets for Freedom, Iraq veterans Specialist Kate Norley and Sgt. Garret Anderson inform Senator Obama that much progress has been made in Iraq since the Senator’s last visit in 2006. Ms. Norley and Mr. Anderson would like to know when Senator Obama would be "returning" to Iraq, and if he would be willing to meet “unconditionally" with General Peatrus.

Is Scott McClellan a "Miserable Creature?"


Former Majority Leader Bob Dole did not mix words when confronting former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan. In an e-mail sent to McClellan, and made available to the media, Mr. Dole eviscerated McClellan for his lack of integrity and courage:

There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don't have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues. No, your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique.

In my nearly 36 years of public service I've known of a few like you. No doubt you will "clean up" as the liberal anti-Bush press will promote your belated concerns with wild enthusiasm. When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, "Biting The Hand That Fed Me." Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years.

I have no intention of reading your "exposé" because if all these awful things were happening, and perhaps some may have been, you should have spoken up publicly like a man, or quit your cushy, high profile job. That would have taken integrity and courage but then you would have had credibility and your complaints could have been aired objectively. You're a hot ticket now but don't you, deep down, feel like a total ingrate?

Senator Obama: Wrong On “No Child Left Behind”


Senator Obama has made it a point time and time again to refer to the “No Child Left Behind” initiative as “President Bush's.” Borrowing from the rhetoric of the NEA, Obama has made it very clear that he wants to get rid of the program, scrap it completely.

Senator Obama is once again being disingenuous when he tries to place this bipartisan legislation at the feet of President Bush. In fact, the bill was sponsored by an Obama ally, Senator Ted Kennedy, and was overwhelming passed by Democrats and Republicans alike in 2002. So why does Obama keep calling it "Bush’s program?" He knows the history of the bill and its passage, or is it just politically expident to say the program isn't working (providing no statistics to back that claim up), and then blame President Bush for the mess? That seems to be Obama's 'modus operandi.' Invent a problem, blame it on someone else, then provide a pile of fluff and label it a solution.

I do not fully support 'No Child Left Behind', in large part because it keeps the federal government in the local classroom. But barring the eradication of federal influence in our neighborhood schools, a program such as 'No Child Left Behind' is necessary to ensure educational integrity.

Chief Bush Antagonist Wants To Call McClellan To The Hill



Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Flordia., says Scott McClellan's book is full of "shocking revelations," and Wexler wants the former Bush press secretary to testify in front of the House Judiciary Committee about the Bush administration's "deliberate efforts to mislead the American people into the Iraq War."

Wexler stated:

"Scott McClellan must now appear before the House Judiciary Committee under oath to tell Congress and the American people how President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Scooter Libby, and White House officials deliberately orchestrated a massive propaganda campaign to sell the war in Iraq to the American people.... "The allegations by this former top White House aide - that Rove and Libby deliberately coordinated their stories in order to obstruct justice in the Plame case, that the President deliberately disregarded contradictory evidence related to Iraq, should outrage every American."

Congress just loves a good, old fashion hearing during the Summer to help work the electorate into a frenzy before the elections. A word of advise to Mr. McClellan….get a good lawyer (that should pretty much wipe any money you made on the book!), you are going to need it.

Potential Vice-Presidential Nominee: Serious Moral Evil


Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius name has been mentioned as a potential running mate with Senator Obama. And why not? As a governor she would bring executive experience to the ticket that Obama lacks. She will help win over the female base of the party that is feeling somewhat rejected at the way Hillary was treated. And more importantly she passes the most crucial Democratic litmus test, she is 100% pro-abortion.

Ms. Sebelius position is considered extreme by many in her own State and around the country; but is right in line with Senator Obama’s position. One such critic of Ms. Sebelius aggressive stance on abortion is Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann, whose Roman Catholic archdiocese covers the northeast area of Kansas. Archbishop Naumann called for Ms. Sebelius to stop taking Communion due to her stance on abortion:

Archbishop Naumann called Gov. Sebelius out on her veto of a bill, which was passed overwhelmingly by both houses of the Kansas Legislature, which would strengthen the state's ban on late-term abortions by authorizing private lawsuits against providers. That followed by a year her veto of a bill requiring explicit medical reasons for a late abortion, which was preceded by vetoing other abortion legislation in 2006, 2005 and 2003.

Believe it or not there are pro-life members of the Democratic Party. But their opinion is never considered, and to some, these pro-life party members are looked upon with distain.

The Democratic Party claims to be the party of tolerance, but are they truly open enough to listen to members of their own party that stand against abortion? Was Archbishop Naumann actions appropriate?

President Bush Honors America’s Heroes



On Memorial Day President Bush attended a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to pay tribute to the American men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country and their fellow citizens.

During that speech President Bush called out several soldiers, including New Hampshire’s own Nathan Hardy. Nathan is a Navy Seal who was killed in action along side his brother Mike Koch. Although every fallen soldier’s account is unique, there are common threads that each of them share with their brothers in arms. Nathan’s and Mike’s story speaks to the unbreakable bond that soldiers in combat share.
A bond that those that have never served could ever understand. A bond that only those that have served can appreciate.

When I read about soldiers such as Nathan and Mike, I could not help but to be reminded of the final paragraph of the Gettysburg Address:

“It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

“The last full measure of devotion to that cause…” Nathan and Mike believed in the mission for which they gave their life. We show our respect for their sacrifice by supporting, without condition, their brothers still serving in harms way.

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. Mr. Secretary, thank you for the kind introduction. Members of my Cabinet, members of the administration, Admiral Mullen, members of the United States Congress, Senator Warner and Congressman Skelton, members of the military, our veterans, honored guests, families of the fallen: Laura and I are honored to be with you on Memorial Day and thank you for coming.

A few moments ago, I placed a wreath upon the tomb of three brave American[s] who gave their lives in service to our nation. The names of these honored are known only to the Creator who delivered them home from the anguish of war -- but their valor is known to us all. It's the same valor that endured the stinging cold of Valley Forge. It is the same valor that planted the proud colors of a great nation on a mountaintop on Iwo Jima. It is the same valor that charged fearlessly through the assault of enemy fire from the mountains of Afghanistan to the deserts of Iraq. Today, we gather to honor those who gave everything to preserve our way of life. The men and women we honor here served for liberty. They sacrificed for liberty. From faraway lands, they were returned to cemeteries like this one, where broken hearts received their broken bodies -- they found peace beneath the white headstones in the land they fought to defend.

It is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom that the number of headstones in a place such as this grows with every new Memorial Day. In a world where freedom is constantly under attack and in a world where our security is challenged, the joys of liberty are often purchased by the sacrifices of those who serve a cause greater than themselves. Today we mourn and remember all who have given their lives in the line of duty. Today we lift up our hearts especially those who've fallen in the past year.

We remember Army Specialist Ronald Tucker of Fountain, Colorado. As a young man, Ronnie was known for having an infectious smile and a prankster's sense of humor. And then he joined the United States Army, which brought out a more mature side in him. Ronnie transformed from a lighthearted teenager into a devoted soldier and a dutiful son who called his mother every day from his post in Iraq. In his final act of duty, less than a month ago, he worked with other members of his unit to build a soccer field for Iraqi children. As he drove back to his base, an enemy bomb robbed him of his life. And today our nation grieves for the loss of Ronnie Tucker.

We remember two Navy SEALS -- Nathan Hardy of Durham, New Hampshire, and Michael Koch of State College, Pennsylvania. Nate and Mike were partners in the field and they were close friends in the barracks. Through several missions together, they had developed the unique bond of brotherhood that comes from trusting another with your life. They even shared a battlefield tradition: They would often head into battle with American flags clutched to their chests underneath their uniform. Nate and Mike performed this ritual for the last time on February the 4th -- they both laid down their lives in Iraq after being ambushed by terrorists. These two friends spent their last few moments on earth together, doing what they loved most -- defending the United States of America. Today, Nathan Hardy and Mike Koch lay at rest next to each other right here on the grounds of Arlington.

The men and women of American armed forces perform extraordinary acts of heroism every single day. Like the nation they serve, they do not glory in the devastation of war. They also do not flinch from combat when liberty and justice are embattled. Ronald Tucker, Nathan Hardy and Mike Koch make clear, they do not waver -- even in the face of danger.

And so today, here in Washington and across our country, we pay tribute to all who have fallen -- a tribute never equal to the debt they are owed. We will forever honor their memories. We will forever search for their comrades, the POWs and MIAs. And we pledge -- we offer a solemn pledge to persevere and to provide the security for our citizens and secure the peace for which they fought.
The soil of Arlington and other sites is filled with liberty's defenders. It is nourished by their heroism. It is watered by the silent tears of the mothers and fathers, and husbands and wives, and sons and daughters they left behind. Today we pray for God's blessing on all who grieve and ask the Almighty to strengthen and comfort them today and everyday.

On this Memorial Day, I stand before you as the Commander-in-Chief and try to tell you how proud I am at the sacrifice and service of the men and women who wear our uniform. They're an awesome bunch of people and the United States is blessed to have such citizens.

I am humbled by those who have made the ultimate sacrifice that allow a free civilization to endure and flourish. It only remains for us, the heirs of their legacy, to have the courage and the character to follow their lead -- and to preserve America as the greatest nation on earth and the last best hope for mankind.

For an 83 year old, former President Jimmy Carter has been extremely busy. Recently, Mr. Carter got the attention of the media while attending the Hay Festival in Wales.

The reality that Israel had nuclear weapons is no secret. However, Israel has maintained a policy of not disclosing its weapons inventory to the world (much like the US, or for that matter, most nations). The United States agreed to honor the Israel policy regarding this matter. The fact that Mr. Carter referenced an exact quantity has many people concerned. Was Mr. Carter speaking from a place of privileged knowledge, or was he throwing out a random number? Does Mr. Carter, as a former President, have an obligation to keep such information to himself?

Reporter Edward M. Gomez, while reporting on the Hay conference, attended a speech given by Mr. Carter, which he detailed in an “opinion piece” titled – “Will the next president dare to say this?”

Wishful Thinking of the Absurd

“……… neither of the leading candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois or Senator Hillary Clinton of New York, has offered specific policy proposals that would address, with a sense of urgency, George W. Bush's failed, costly, aimless wars and shut them down - fast. Meanwhile, the Bush clone and presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Senator John McCain of Arizona, has shown himself to be a big supporter of the taxpayer-abusing military-industrial complex against whose pernicious influence his Republican forbear, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, once presciently warned. To date, McCain has not emphasized any need to quickly withdraw American troops from Bush's wars.

Now imagine if one of the current crop of U.S. presidential candidates were to offer the following remarks sometime soon out on the campaign trail. Imagine Obama, Clinton or McCain saying: "When I'm the president of the United States,...[m]y country will never again torture a prisoner. When I'm the president of the United States, we will never again attack another country unless our security is directly threatened. When I'm the president of the United States, human rights will be the foundation of our foreign policy." Imagine Obama, Clinton or McCain continuing to speak "in that vein, with ringing declarations on global warming, a promise to honor international agreements and to bring 'security and peace to Israel and all its neighbors and treat them all on an equal basis.'" That probably isn't going to happen anytime soon. Is it?”


Mr. Gomez, statement such as these are why Mr. Carter is known as “former President Carter.” Mr. Carter’s also alluded to President Bush’s life after the Presidency:

Guardian news article about Carter's Hay Festival appearance notes that, in his chat with Sands, he "left an intriguing hint that George [W.] Bush might even face prosecution on war-crimes charges once he [leaves] office. When pressed by Philippe Sands...on Bush's recent admission that he had authorized interrogation procedures widely seen as amounting to torture, Carter replied that he was sure Bush would be able to live a peaceful, 'productive life - in our country'" after he leaves the White House. Sands later said that he had "understood that [remark] to be 'clear confirmation' that[,] while Bush would face no challenge in his own country, 'what happened outside the country was another matter entirely.'"

What is Carter babbling about? War crimes? Traveling beyond the borders of the United States? Like that senior citizen driving down the road with their left turn-signal on the whole way, Mr. Carter has no clue what is going on around him! So would someone please shut him up, and get him the hell out of Europe!

Philadelphia Tries To Strong-Arms The Boy Scouts


The City of Brotherly Love is on the attack, and the city has their sights set on the most evil of all organizations……..the Boy Scouts? That’s right, the same group whose laws call for their members to be “helpful, friendly, and courteous” among other things, is being targeted for their “exclusionary policies”

City solicitor Romy Diaz had given the 'Cradle of Liberty Council' the choice to abandon the Boy Scout’s national policy against gays, or pay market rate rent (estimated at around $200,000 a year) for its headquarters on city-owned land, or find a new home.

In the very city where our Constitution was written, it almost seems like sacrilege to attack a noble institution such as the Boys Scouts, and then claim to be doing so in the name of "righteousness." Way to go Philadelphia, I guess you showed them!

Is Indiana Jones a Conservative or Liberal?

There are very few characters more appealing and intriguing than Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones persona is reminiscent of a combination of two fictional charters and two real life personalities. Jones is a cross between Rick Blaine from Casablanca, Ethan Edwards of The Searchers, T.E Lawrence of Lawrence of Arabia, and Teddy Roosevelt. But of course in the end Indiana Jones is his own man, and very much fictional. But what if Indiana Jones were real? To carry the conversation to the absurd, what if he voted? Who would Indiana Jones support in November of 2008?

Now let us for a moment put aside the fact that Indiana Jones is the creation of well-known liberals Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, and look instead to the resume of the functional character Indiana Jones. What did Indiana Jones action say about the man? Reluctant hero or man of action? Conservative or liberal?

World traveler as a youth , who was raised by his father after his mother’s death, Indiana Jones learned at a young age to be self-reliant. Indiana Jones dropped out of high school at 16 to fight in the Mexican Revolution, then fled to the United Kingdom and enlisted to fight in World War I. Jones would fight as member of the Belgian Army, and than later served in both the Belgian and French Secret Service. Indiana Jones would eventually finish college and settle on a career as a teacher. But teaching was nothing more than something to kill time in-between adventures.

Fighting Chinese gangster and corrupt Indian leaders were everyday occurrences in the life of Henry Walton Jones Jr. (Indian’s real name). Jones despised those that committed evil, especially at the expense of the innocent and vulnerable. Jones could be a charmer, but very rarely mixed words when faced with adversary. Indiana Jones knew that there were times when negotiating or appeasing were not an option, understanding instead that the situation called for his trusty whip or Smith & Wesson .45.

Understanding who Indiana Jones was is to understand what he stood for. Good over evil, protect the innocent, stand by your friends and family, and seek the facts. So I pose the question. If Indiana Jones were alive today, whom would he vote for? Obama, Clinton, McCain, or some yet to be named independent candidate?

Iran Tells Hamas: Keep Resisting Israel


Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Hamas’ representative Khaled Meshaal meet to discuss the fate of the Palestinian struggle with Israel. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Hamas that “abandoning the struggle would lead to disgrace.”

I am not a diplomat, but the following quotes seem less than encouraging for a peaceful solution between Hamas, Israel, and Iran:

Khamenei - "It is evident today that the Zionist regime is at its lowest ebb and is unable to resist the patient Palestinian people"

Khamenei - "Thank God the Palestinian people have stood like a mountain despite the disaster. The only way to the liberation of Palestine is to resist faithfully"

Khamenei - "The ones who choose a path that is not one of resistance will pay a price and be disgraced in the eyes of God,"

I am probably reading too much into this meeting. Besides, Presidential Candidate Barrack Obama stated last week that Iran is a small country, one that we should not be worried about. Thank goodness, I was worried there for a moment.

I particularly like the comment by UN spokesman Nick Birnback, who stated that it was impossible to ensure "zero incidents." Yet that is what the UN demands of every other agency serving humanity around the world! Maybe the UN should worry less about the imaginary “crisis” of racism in the United States, and look to clean up their own problems first.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) “believes” that Iran’s nuclear program is primarily peaceful. However, the IAEA also cited Iran for withholding critical information that could determine whether it is trying to make nuclear weapons:

The IAEA report was “clear,” that much of Iran’s nuclear program remains a mystery. Considering their past history and current political environment, there is no way that anyone in their right mind could feel confident regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions; unless of course you are the LA Times. Their headline (“U.N. finds no proof Iran continued nuclear arms program”) was extremely misleading. The reality is that there are large “holes of understanding” about Iran’s nuclear program, and the headline should have reflected that concern.

Is Your State In Fincial Trouble? Who's To Blame?


Over the past few weeks we have seen a rash of stories about the many States that are experiencing, or are anticipating, a budget shortfall. The reality is that the reports of budget shortfalls have become an annual Spring tradition for many States, like the blooming of the Cherry Blossoms. But what is interesting is that many in the media and the government are stating that this is a sign of a recession. No its not. There are two reasons that the States find themselves in this mess:



  • Our elected officials are spending too much money.


  • Tax revenue are far less than was expected.

In my home State of New Hampshire we are looking at a possible deficit of $300 million dollars. The classic response has been “it’s George Bush's fault.” Why not, it has become so easy to blame President Bush for anything and everything, just ask Keith Olbermann. Personal and professional accountability has been lost on many State legislators, Governors, and other government officials responsibly for creating sound budgets, but instead have driven their States into the ground with their lack of fiscal conservatism.


How did all the States find themselves in this mess? I wish the easy answer was the downturn in the economy, but the truth is that our representatives have been acting recklessly with OUR money for sometime; it is only now starting to catch up with them. States gather together every year to draw up a budget. Part of that budget process includes a list of everything they want to spend money on (which often looks like the Christmas list of a 5-year old child) , and the other part is a listing all of the “expected” revenue. Excepted is a funny word. To some it means actual revenue, to others it merely means potential revenue. But what expected truly means is a best guess. Well for many that guess was off, not by a little, but by a lot.


So how do WE get out of this mess, because you see, the politicians will be looking to their next victims (oh, I am sorry…continuant's) to “help solve this crisis?” We will hear how we all have to “tighten our belts,” “sacrifice on a few things,” or “go through the pain now” to correct the problem.


Like foxes in the henhouse, our representatives have already made a few “suggestions:”



Maryland – Tax the Rich (Replace Tech Tax with Capital Gains Tax)


New Hampshire – Increase the burden on the lower income and tourist (Increase in Cigarette Tax and reduce Wine Discount on Volume Sales)


North Carolina – There it is again, the “sin tax” (Increase Tax on Cigarettes)


New York City – Say it with me, “sin tax” ($1.50 per pack tax INCREASE)


Minnesota – Some tax increases, but major cuts ($373 millions dollars, manageable. 1 billion dollar, bend over tax payers!)


New Jersey – 3 billion in the hole. Raise toll charges, and oh, spend $580 million more on schools ("That will be $100.00 to cross the bridge over to NYC)


California - $14 billion dollar deficit, no big deal! (Maybe Hollywood Can Throw a Fundraiser!)


Massachusetts - 2.5% tax on college endowments (No...we meant tax the evil oil companies, not us!). This of course follows the failed attempt by Davel Patrick to get casino gambling.


In all, 31 States are facing revenue shortfalls (CBPP: States facing Tough Budget Times). Trust me when I say that there is enough blame to go around. Republican, Democrat, and Independent. Blame goes to the Republicans for abandoning their conservative fiscal principals. To the Democrats for living up to the motto of “Adeo Ut Illic Es Miseratio , Nos Vadum Epulum.” And to the Independents for being non-committal on everything. So my fellow taxpayers, hold onto you wallets, because the taxman cometh!


Most budget crisis’s could have been prevented, but now some tough choices will have to be made. All of the concerned States will implement a combination of budget cuts and tax/fee increases. But how can the effected States prevent this from happening in the future? The solution is simple, but not easy:



  1. Set a realistic budget. You cannot be everything to everyone. The goal of any State is to preserve the infrastructure (roads and bridges), provide an adequate education, insure strong law enforcement, and maintain a disciplined social services.

  1. Set realistic revenue goals. Granted you cannot foresee every bump on the “economic highway,” but in the same regard, we should not be spending every last penny. Experts believe that you have to underestimate your potential revenue, by as much as 25%.


  1. Document and audit every penny spent. Enact “Budget Transparency” policies and laws. This would require each department to post how they are using OUR money to support OUR needs.


  1. Establish a strict “Rainy Day Fund (RDF).” This fund should have stringent guidelines as to how the fund can be used. Rainy Day Fund can be subsidized by (but not limited to):


  • Any cost savings recognized at the end of the year is not spent, but placed in the Rainy Day Fund. That would mean strictly monitoring each State Office and holding them to task.


  • Any revenue collected above the estimated projected revenue would be placed into this fund.

But what can “We the People” do to ensure that our elected officials are managing our money correctly?:



  1. For beginners, be smarter about who we elect. Think less about Democrat, Republican, and Independent, and think more about the agenda of the candidates. Every candidate wants our children to have a good education, but how to achieve that differs from candidate to candidate.

  2. Hold each of your representatives to task, even if you didn’t vote for them. Each representative should tell you exactly where they stand on matters related to the budget and taxes. Screw the rhetoric and insist on facts!

  3. Voice your concerns. If you do not express your disappointment, then your representatives will feel that they have free rein to do whatever they want with YOUR money. Write editorials, call and write your representatives, get your neighbors and friends involved. Remember, your representative doesn’t have to agree with you, but if enough people speak up, they will listen.


It is important to remember that States do more harm to their citizens when they support a fiscal environment that is mismanaged and strained. It is not just a matter of spending wisely, but taxing wisely as well. In the end fiscal accountability, contrary to what our representatives would have us believe, is the duty of the people, not the politicians.

Iraqi Violence Falls to a Four-Year Low

Hey ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN….wake up! Proving once again that many in the mainstream media are more concerned about getting Senator Obama elected than reporting “factually” on the news, they left the most recent positive news from Iraqi alone:

Although the news is good, it does not mean we should not remain vigilant. As was reported earlier (Anti-Troop Rhetoric Undermines Our Troops), how we in America respond (positive or negative) to the events in Iraqi help determine the actions of the terrorist. Isn’t amazing how the casual critics on the war on terrorism suddenly shut up when the news is not to their likening…….that’s Democratic conviction for you.

The Next “Greatest Generation”


I read with great interest a recent story about the rapid passing of those who came of age during World War II; those people who are part of what we now refer to as the Greatest Generation:

Each day we lose a thousand stories, a thousand tales of selfless sacrifice and commitment. Those that are part of the Greatest Generation did not realize their exclusive membership, and most would likely tell you that they “did what they had to do.” The Greatest Generation showed us what it means to truly, and unconditionally, “love” your country. The Greatest Generation looked to America’s greatness, and forgave its mistakes.

The Greatest Generation includes a solider that landed at Normandy or fought at Iwo Jima. The Greatest Generation are the women who helped revitalized the industry might of a country that had suffered for over ten-years from econometric instability. The Greatest Generation are those that moved beyond the War, and led the United States into a rebirth of greatness. Yet they remained humble, casual about their place in history. Maybe humility and a magnanimous call to duty are the greatest lesson they taught us?

How will your generation be judged, not only by history, but compared to the Greatest Generation? Have the generations that followed squandered what was secured for them through the sacrifice demonstrated by the Greatest Generation? Have we become too spoiled and arrogant? Will the generations that followed be looked upon as the “anti-Greatest Generations?” Will we ever see the next "Greatest Generation?"

Only time will tell.

Democratic Policies Are To Blame For Our Energy Problems


This week Congress called the oil executives before the House for “hearings.” What in fact happened was not about solving the problem at hand, but what Democratic do best…belittle, chastise, and blame others for their own incompetence!

Witness this exchange between the “esteem” Congresswoman Maxine Waters (pay close attention to what happens at 1:13 into the video):

The equation is easy. Socialism = Liberalism = Progressivism = Failure.

This November, if we go to the polls and further strengthen the Democrats hold on this country, Ms. Waters threats will become reality. History has shown us that “socialism” does not stop at taking over one element of industry.

Gas prices did not go through the roof until the Democrats took control of Congress. The Democratic Party’s failures, and the inaction of the Republican Party, over these past decades has placed America in this position:

  • Failure to build additional refineries to create reserves faster
  • Failure to allow drilling off-shore and in protected areas
  • Failure to encourage exploration for new sources
  • Failure to expanding nuclear power options
  • Failure to support a transit system that provides transportation faster, cleaner, and cheaper
It is time for us to stop blaming big oil, look in the mirror for who is to blame, and then work together to solve an issue threatening to cripple our nation!

The first question I had was “what” (or more precisely – “who”) is the “Center for Biological Diversity (CBD)?” The CBD mission statement pretty much summarizes who and what they are. The Center for Biological Diversity was created to “ensure species equality.” Maybe they can get a really, really, REALLY good lawyer that can convince the courts that the animals are protected by the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution.

These groups are just another example of the irresponsibility of “judicial activism,” attempting to use the courts to legitimize their cause. Eddie Walker is leaving a job he loves because he feels strongly about his beliefs and the well-being of his students. Eddie Walker is currently the principal at Irmo High School in South Carolina. Mr. Walk has decided to resign rather than oversee the formation of a Gay and Lesbian themed organization at his school:

Mr. Walk is right that the formation of such organization is not in good standing with what public schools should strive for, and for Irmo High School to sanction such a group is harmful to the well-being of the student body.

To add insult to injury, Mr. Walker was immediately attacked. A group called South Carolina Equality has called for Mr. Walker to resign immediately or face termination:

In this day and age, when people lack convictions and honor, Mr. Walker deserves our respect. At no time did he personal attack the gay community or their lifestyle, but they in turn have shown very little tolerance for Mr. Walker’s beliefs.

The school board that has power over Irmo High School made the wrong decision, and for that they will be losing a person of character and principle.

Men: Nothing More Than Sperm Donors


The assault on fatherhood continues, this time in the UK. Legislators in England decided to pass a law scraping a previous addendum to England's IVF laws which stated a “father and mother” were required before an IVF procedure is performed:

This law is a sad statement as to the importance a father plays in the emotional development in a child’s life. Men are considered insignificant in the well-being of the child, while a mother is revered as the only parent a child would ever need.

The passing of this law does nothing more than allow women to think of only themselves and their emotional and biological needs. As the story pointed out, there was much debate back and forth as to the “different kinds” of families that could exist. But one telling exchange perked my interest:

“Labour ex-minister George Howarth asked if he accepted that there were bad fathers who can "have a bad influence in some circumstances" - to which Mr Duncan Smith said he did.”

To direct that question straight towards fathers is a clear example of the bias many people have against men. Could that same question not also be true for bad mothers? The reality is that a child is far more likely to be killed by their mother during the first weeks of their life than their father. A child is also more likely to be abused and murder in a “mother-only” household.

I am not trying to say that a father is better than a mother, or a mother is better than a father; but study after study has shown that the best thing for a child is a home that features a mother and a father. To artificially eliminate the need for a father is not only harmful to the child, but to society on a whole.

Appellate Court Rules That Paper Money Discriminates Against The Blind


In a 2-1 decision the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that the United States method of printing paper money was unfair to those with sight disabilities:

This will without a doubt makes its way to the US Supreme Court. This ruling could have far reaching implications, not only for the government, but private businesses. The US Constitution grants control for the “coining of money” to only the Congress of the United States. As such, the Congress has regulated the responsibility for the creation of our currency to the Treasury Department.

The court has stepped beyond the wall that “separates powers” by trying to impose a standard that is the clearly the purview of the US Congress and their designated agents.

The need for the US Treasury to consider the sight impaired is something they should research. However, for a federal court to impose their will when no Constituational amendment has been violated is a dangerous persistence.

The proper course of action would have been the people addressing their grievances with the branch of the government that already has the power to effect change, the US Congress.

Breaking News: Iran Considered A Threat To World Peace

I know, I was socked to hear Iran might be up to no good. The International Institute for Strategic Studies (http://www.iiss.org) release a report on May 20, 2008, that indicates that Iran’s desire to obtain a nuclear bomb is fueling an arms face in the region:

In a preempted response to the IISS report, the former head of the Berlin-based German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), Christoph Bertram wrote in an op-ed piece for the Sunday paper Der Tagesspiegel that suggested the present western Iran strategy had "failed."Bertram urged western leaders to "review the strategy towards Iran" instead of issuing futile threats and repeatedly passing "toothless sanctions." Bertram called on western nations to engage in nuclear talks with Tehran "without any preconditions." Bertram details his plans for the West to engage Tehran in his forth coming book titled -'Partner, Not rival: For another Iran policy'

Maybe Bertram is right. That we should meet with Iran without any pre-conditions, but I would at least add one post-condition to the talks – “If you continue with your nuclear ambitions you will not see a finished product. Cease all attempts to develop nuclear weapons, or we will close your program down for you.”

No futile threats, but a clear message delivered right to the point, just as Reagan did with the Soviets at Reykjavik in 1986. Bertram should know that Iran will never negotiate in good faith with the United States, or for that matter the rest of the world. Talks would only allow Iran to fulfill their desire while watching the United States lollygag.


It is ironic that this report was released just days after President Bush’s “Reaganiness” speech, which clearly some people have ignored. To negotiate with the current Iran is paramount to appeasement, which is unacceptable.

Hugo Chavez: "You’re Really Making Me Mad"


Former Army Colonel Hugo Chavez is not very happy with the United States….so what else is new. Chavez is upset because a US Aircraft flew over Venezuelan airspace, citing “navigational problems” as the cause for the incident:

Well Hugo…you wanted to play with the big boys, so welcome to the game. We have seen this act a thousand times in the past. A former military officer takes over a country and wants to be more important than he is. He starts holding swords and guns in the air during three hour public tirades that condemn the United States as evil. At the same time this corrupt leader is holding photo opts with the Hollywood elite and other thugs posing as “world leaders,” despite the fact that he is chucking people in jail or sending them to torture camps.

Hugo Chavez is a threat to the security of the United States. He is funding leftist rebels throughout South America, especially in Columbia where he is supporting the Marxist-Leninist revolutionary guerilla group Farc (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia). He is building up his military arsenal thanks to China and Russia (
Interpol: Venezuela Weapons Build Up), supporting his increase arms purchases (while his people struggle with poverty) with statements like this:

"We aren't going to attack anybody. But I always say it: Nobody should make a mistake with us," Chavez told soldiers "Our fatherland is permanently threatened by imperialism."

Love the use of the term “fatherland”……..remind you of anyone? I doubt the “fly over” was due to a navigational error, and I don’t care. Chavez is leading his country down a path to destruction, either through armed conflict or economic ruin. The unfortunate part is that the people of Venezuela are decent, hardworking people, who are being led by a megalomaniac. But hey, they get to see Danny Glover and Sean Penn. That's a fair trade off.....right?

Former KKK Exalted Cyclops Endorses Obama


All of us have dirt we would like to wash away, for Senator Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia) the filth of a racist past cannot be easily removed with soap and water.


Senator Byrd has come out in support of Senator Obama, endorsing his candidacy for President of the United States; going against the wishes of his constituents, who overwhelming voted for Hillary Clinton.


The press very quietly reported on the Byrd endorsment, and not all have included Senator Byrd’s racist pass, as if to say his endorsement today excoriates him from his “misguided youth.” For you see, if you haven’t heard, the Honorable Robert Byrd was a member of the KKK.



Mr. Byrd was not only a member of the KKK, he served as a chief recruiter (Kleagle), and ultimately rose to the rank of Exalted Cyclops (sort of like a regional manager). But Byrd’s racist views where not limited to cross burnings and robe wearing activities. Senator Byrd was extremely opposed to the integration of the military, having expressed in displeasure in writing:




  • “Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.”

  • "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side"


After being elected to federal office, Bryd aggressively fought all of the early equal rights legislation that came before him. But as time passed, Byrd mellowed, eventually attributing his early racist views to political necessity. Today, Byrd would have us believe that his endorsement of Obama is sincere, and having nothing to do with political necessity or reparations for his past sins.



Sentator Byrd is a classic representation of the Democratic Party, now and in the past. Senator Byrd action once again demonstrate the calculated maneuvers of the ultimate political animal. There is nothing brave or redeeming about Senator Byrd’s endorsement, Byrd's endorsement is nothing more than an example of the Democratic Party's "chickens coming home to roost."

Study Questions Link Between Global Warming and Hurricanes

Meteorologist Tom Knutson is about to find himself an outcast within the scientific community:

I have not seen a copy of the report, and will reserve any critique until I have had a chance to look at Knutson's findings.

This will not be the last such report on Climate Change. But this report does illustrate that there is dissension within the science community as to the cause and effect of Global Warming. We can expect to see Dr. Knutson attacked and discredited over the next few days . To challenge ANY aspect to Climate Change will not be tolerated, a lesson many before Dr. Knutson's learned the hard way.

United Nations: Is The United States Racist?


The UN, in advance of the 2009 World Conference Against Racism (WCAR), will be touring several key US cities to investigate reports of racism. UN representatives will convene in New York, Chicago, New Orleans, and San Juan. Are there any doubts what the conclusion of the report will be?

This is the second WCAR to held, the first being 2001. Many felt the first WCAR, also known as the Durban Review Conference, turned into a platform for racism and anti-Semitic attacks. In fact, in Sept. 2001, then Secretary of State Colin Powell withdrew the U.S. delegation from the conference amid strong differences over draft texts, arguing that a conference condoning "hateful language" that "singles out Israel for abuse" could not be successful.

Tad Stahnke, representative of the NGO Human Rights First, was also concerned about next years WCAR being a repeat of the first WCAR - "We must not allow another United Nations conference to become a platform for the anti-Semitic hatred that marred the 2001 conference," he said, adding that the tactics used in Durban had exacerbated the very prejudices the conference was supposed to confront..”

The term “Islamophobia” made its first prominent appearance during the 2001 WCAR. The 2001 WCAR was extremely hostile towards Israel, while ignoring countries such as Syria, Iran, and Iraq. As of this writing Israel and Canada have already stated that they will not attend, citing a hostile atmosphere. The United Kingdom and the United States are also considering withdrawing.

Given their track record, and many of their member’s anti-American sentiments, I question whether we should be supporting WCAR at all. Is this a valuable use of the UN's time? The questions before us are simple, but it is the answers that seem to get us in trouble:

  • Are American's racist?
  • Is America anymore racist that other countries?
  • Is the UN the right organization to address this matter?
