Racist Republican Running for Office

Attorney Tony Zirkle is running for the US Congress for the State of Indiana. Zirkle attended the Navy Academy and received his degree from Georgetown. He has been a successful state prosecutor who led the charge against Internet pornography. Oh, and one other thing…he is a racist.

Mr. Zirkle believes (among other things) that:

  • Whites have been the victims of a genocide
  • That races should be segregated into different states
  • That Pornography is a Jewish plot against women

JTA Voter Alert: Is Tony Zirkle a Nazis?

By Zirkle own admission, he does not expect to win the primary (gee…I wonder why he thinks that?). Jay Kenworthy, the Communications Director for the Indiana GOP, made it very clear that Zirkle does not represent the views of the Republican Party in Indiana - "We don’t consider him a member of the party," Kenworthy stated. "His views are not in any way, shape or form a reflection of the Republican party’s views." In fact, the Republican Party has officially endorsed the other Republican running in the Primary, Luke Puckett.

Zirkle does not represent the beliefs of the Republican Party, but that will matter very little to the media and “Blue” bloggers. But the question that leaders of a political party, or for that matter us, have to ask and answer is “What do you do about a person such as Zirkle?”
