Political Musical Chairs: Seating The Florida and Michigan Delegates

“This is the unity that we will show America when we inaugurate a Democratic president in January 2009 and the beginning of restoring our great country." – Howard Dean, DNC Chairman

So began the bloviating that officially opened the Democratic Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting. The speeches and rhetoric went on for more than 30 minutes. Unity was the “message,” but all that was provided were “just words.”

The simple solution is to honor the rules the DNC, along with the candidates, agreed to in August of 2007. The States understood exactly what would happen should they violated the rules, which is precisely where they find themselves. But following rules and committing to principal just isn’t in the DNC creed. Democrats in general have a hard time adjusting to those annoying little things called rules, preferring instead to ignore them thinking - “what is the worse that could happen?”

I take great offense to Howard Dean statements about “restoring our great country.” America is a still a great nation, and shame on the Democrats for spending the last 8 years belittling our virtues and creating a false American identity. The Democratic Party has squandered the trust of the American people for the sake of “power.” All one has to so is look at how the Democrats have acted during this year primaries, and you will see exactly what Americans can look forward to if they control all three seats of the federal government.
