Iran Tells Hamas: Keep Resisting Israel

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Hamas’ representative Khaled Meshaal meet to discuss the fate of the Palestinian struggle with Israel. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Hamas that “abandoning the struggle would lead to disgrace.”

Hamas must resist or lose face

I am not a diplomat, but the following quotes seem less than encouraging for a peaceful solution between Hamas, Israel, and Iran:

Khamenei - "It is evident today that the Zionist regime is at its lowest ebb and is unable to resist the patient Palestinian people"

Khamenei - "Thank God the Palestinian people have stood like a mountain despite the disaster. The only way to the liberation of Palestine is to resist faithfully"

Khamenei - "The ones who choose a path that is not one of resistance will pay a price and be disgraced in the eyes of God,"

I am probably reading too much into this meeting. Besides, Presidential Candidate Barrack Obama stated last week that Iran is a small country, one that we should not be worried about. Thank goodness, I was worried there for a moment.
