Representative Luis Gutierrez: Blame The Victim, Not The Criminal

Forget the fact that time and time again members of Congress have directed divisive language against conservative groups. Forget that more witnesses than I can count have appeared (with the full support from Left leaning legislators) and made wild accusations. Yes, for this one brief moment let’s forget the double-standard the Left lives by.

The father, Ray Tranchant, whose daughter was killed in a “traffic accident” because of a drunk illegal alien, appeared before a congressional committee to tell his story. After his testimony, Mr. Tranchant was lectured by Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-Illinois):

Just a word of advice to Representative Gutierrez, stay focused, show some empathy, and keep the priorities straight next time….if that is even possible.

High School Pregnancy Pact

Gloucester High School is about to experience a baby boom, with 17 girls, none over the age 16, preparing to spend their Summer vacation in maternity bathing suits. But the reason for the pregnancies may surprise you.

School officials have learned that at least half of the pregnant girls entered into a pregnancy pact, and that some of the “fathers” were in their 20’s, including a 24 year old homeless man:

So how have some liberals, along with a complacent media, chosen to address this story. How else….by demanding more funds for birth control and sex education:

Notice that Kathy McCabe, the Boston Globe reporter, made noooooooooo mention of the pregnancy pact…covenant.

The reality is society has created a generation of callous, spoiled, idiots, which is so clearly demonstrated with this pregnancy pact. No amount of sex education or birth control would have prevented at least 9 of these pregnancies, but the first response from the Left…more money….more education….more birth control! How about more discipline, a stronger sense of responsibility, and no public funds used to support any of the girls involved in the pact. They made their “choice,” and they can live with the consequences.

Men: Nothing More Than Sperm Donors

The assault on fatherhood continues, this time in the UK. Legislators in England decided to pass a law scraping a previous addendum to England's IVF laws which stated a “father and mother” were required before an IVF procedure is performed:

This law is a sad statement as to the importance a father plays in the emotional development in a child’s life. Men are considered insignificant in the well-being of the child, while a mother is revered as the only parent a child would ever need.

The passing of this law does nothing more than allow women to think of only themselves and their emotional and biological needs. As the story pointed out, there was much debate back and forth as to the “different kinds” of families that could exist. But one telling exchange perked my interest:

“Labour ex-minister George Howarth asked if he accepted that there were bad fathers who can "have a bad influence in some circumstances" - to which Mr Duncan Smith said he did.”

To direct that question straight towards fathers is a clear example of the bias many people have against men. Could that same question not also be true for bad mothers? The reality is that a child is far more likely to be killed by their mother during the first weeks of their life than their father. A child is also more likely to be abused and murder in a “mother-only” household.

I am not trying to say that a father is better than a mother, or a mother is better than a father; but study after study has shown that the best thing for a child is a home that features a mother and a father. To artificially eliminate the need for a father is not only harmful to the child, but to society on a whole.
