Obama does not want to have an open dialogue regarding abortion, nor does he want to reduce abortions as he has stated on the campaign trail. If he did he would not be supporting FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act).
FOCA is a far sweeping piece of legislation that would effectively abolish any State law or regulation regarding abortion, in affect “nationalizing” abortion:
