The Californian Conundrum: Gay Marriage


The California Supreme Court refused to stay its decision legalizing same-sex marriage in the state until after the November constitutional referendum, clearing the final hurdle for gay couples to start tying the knot in June:

What was the California Supreme Court thinking? The agenda of the court is clear in this decision, and the courts action is a glaring example of judicial activism. What will happen if the citizens of California approve the referendum? Has the Supreme Court subjugated the will of the people by not letting them decide this matter themselves? The courts actions will only serve to confuse the issue further.
