Leon Panetta to head the CIA: Really?


In a surprise move, President-elect Obama has tapped former Clintonista Leon Panetta to head the CIA. Panetta’s only qualification seems to be his expressed opposition to torture. The difficultly is his definition of “torture” does not seem to be in step with the rest of the intelligence community:



Additionally, Panetta does not seem to have the enthusiastic support from members of Congress, as well as the intelligence community. As one of Clinton’s Chief of Staff, Panetta managed to make many enemies on the floor of Congress, which is why we are hearing some grumbling on both sides of the aisle:
