The United States On The Verge Of A Civil War

The United States is on the verge of collapse, and the government is readying a respond. Internment camps to house dissidents are being built, secret meetings on Capitol Hill to “discuss” economic collapse, and preparing the military to quell a looming civil war, are all happening under our very noses. Is this the storyline of a big-budget Hollywood movie or the plot for the next season of “24?” Not at all. This is the gist of several “articles” written by Linn Cohen-Cole, for opednews.com:

I hope Ms. Cole believes in the 2nd Amendment, because it looks like we are going to need it. Ms. Cole is trying to pass her opinion off, and the opinion of others, as factual news, as many conspiracy theorists do. The United States has been on the “verge” of failing since 1776, yet somehow we manage to overt catastrophe every time. Go figure.

There is a sense of disappointment by some when their apocalyptic beliefs fail to materialize. Ms. Cole probable thinks of herself as “one of the canaries in the mine” warning all of us of our pending doom. In reality this “Mad Max” vision of the world is nothing more than the fantasy of the polluted mind of a Progressive.

Is George Bush Batman?

Andrew Klavan, of the Wall Street Journal, wrote an interesting piece entitled What Bush and Batman Have in Common.

Is the comparison between President Bush and Batman accurate? Does our interpretation of Batman’s actions depend on whether we Left leaning or Right leaning? Is the audiences’ veiled allegiance to Batman a silent understanding that in order for good to prevail it sometimes requires desperate measures?

Batman is a fictional character that has the comfort of a predetermined story. There is a beginning, a middle, and end that are all defined. Our leaders do not have that same luxury. The story unfolds before them, and there are no special effects, stuntmen, or rewrites helping the plot along. There are no super heroes, only ordinary men who do extraordinary things. How they are revered or vilified is left to the world, and depends less on the truth and more on the audiences’ point of view.

Are British Soldiers Wimps?

Former male prostitute and Madonna gal pal Rupert Everett is feeling the heat over disparaging comments he made about British soldiers:

The actual quote was “pathetic, whining wimps.” Statements such as “The whole point of being in the Army is wanting to get killed…” plays into the belief by many that all soldiers are warmongers, and shows a complete lack of understanding for those that serve.

As a former soldier, and having served with British soldiers, I have never meet anyone who wanted to “get killed” as Everett has suggested. It is counter to everything we as soldiers are taught. To win by defeating the enemy is what soldiers are trained to do. No army would be very successful if it soldiers wanted to get killed, that's just ridiculous!

Of course this wasn’t the only thing Rupert Everett had to say, also taking the time to criticize Americans as well.

Everett described us as "whiny victims" whose entire language is taken from US TV series Friends and Sex And The City. Everett stated that "I'm totally off the States now. The reaction to 9/11 and then George Bush - really, they've got very blobby as a nation." Blobby....ouch, that hurts.

I could careless what someone like Everett thinks of America. But, Mr. Everett’s callous comments directed at the British military comes from a place of contempt that many elitist have for those that serve their country. Mr. Everett lives in a world where at the end of the day he wipes off his makeup and goes bar-hopping with friends. Everett is an idiot and owes his fellow countryman an apology.

Is Indiana Jones a Conservative or Liberal?

There are very few characters more appealing and intriguing than Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones persona is reminiscent of a combination of two fictional charters and two real life personalities. Jones is a cross between Rick Blaine from Casablanca, Ethan Edwards of The Searchers, T.E Lawrence of Lawrence of Arabia, and Teddy Roosevelt. But of course in the end Indiana Jones is his own man, and very much fictional. But what if Indiana Jones were real? To carry the conversation to the absurd, what if he voted? Who would Indiana Jones support in November of 2008?

Now let us for a moment put aside the fact that Indiana Jones is the creation of well-known liberals Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, and look instead to the resume of the functional character Indiana Jones. What did Indiana Jones action say about the man? Reluctant hero or man of action? Conservative or liberal?

World traveler as a youth , who was raised by his father after his mother’s death, Indiana Jones learned at a young age to be self-reliant. Indiana Jones dropped out of high school at 16 to fight in the Mexican Revolution, then fled to the United Kingdom and enlisted to fight in World War I. Jones would fight as member of the Belgian Army, and than later served in both the Belgian and French Secret Service. Indiana Jones would eventually finish college and settle on a career as a teacher. But teaching was nothing more than something to kill time in-between adventures.

Fighting Chinese gangster and corrupt Indian leaders were everyday occurrences in the life of Henry Walton Jones Jr. (Indian’s real name). Jones despised those that committed evil, especially at the expense of the innocent and vulnerable. Jones could be a charmer, but very rarely mixed words when faced with adversary. Indiana Jones knew that there were times when negotiating or appeasing were not an option, understanding instead that the situation called for his trusty whip or Smith & Wesson .45.

Understanding who Indiana Jones was is to understand what he stood for. Good over evil, protect the innocent, stand by your friends and family, and seek the facts. So I pose the question. If Indiana Jones were alive today, whom would he vote for? Obama, Clinton, McCain, or some yet to be named independent candidate?

Cameron Diaz: Communism A Fashion Statement?

Nothing says high fashion like a handbag with the slogan of an oppressive communist regime, at least that is what the Hollywood elite think.

Cameron Diaz was recently in Lima, Peru participating in a program celebrating Peru’s culture. Ms. Diaz chose to accessorize her visit with a handbag that featured a Red Star and the famous Mao Zedong slogan “Serve the People (Cameron Diaz - ABC News).”

Mao Zedong was a murderer, rapist, and one the 20th's Centeries most vial humans, ranking ahead of Stalin and just behind Hitler (checkout the excellent book Hungry Ghosts: Mao's Secret Famine by Jasper Becker for the real story of Zedong).

The fact that Ms. Diaz, or for that matter anyone, would think that it was appropriate to wear something that represents the deaths of millions of people is just another example of how out of touch Hollywood is. What next “The Concentration Camp Diet Plan” t-shirt or the “Adolph Hitler 70th Commemorative” VW Beetle?”

Peru knows the legacy of Zedong and “the peoples revolution” all to well. During the 1980’s and early 1990’s the Maoist Shining Path was responsible for the slaughter of thousands of Peruvians in the name of Mao’s beliefs. I guess Ms. Diaz thought by wearing the slogan "Serve the People" it would bring her closer to the huddled masses.

Some advise for Ms. Diaz's PR person (if you still have a job). Do a little research to save your client, especially if she is a blond actress, future embarrassment. The bag may be all the rage on Rodeo Drive, but to people who have have suffered at the hands of Zedong followers it represents all that they fear.
